PART ONE — SHIPPING POLICY
1. Where We Ship
Boat Engine LLC ships outboard motors, marine accessories, and parts to customers across the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and to international destinations worldwide. Shipping availability, rates, and transit times vary by destination and product type.
Please note: Certain products — particularly large outboard engines (40 HP and above), Seakeeper gyrostabilizers, and oversized marine equipment — may require freight or LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipping rather than standard parcel delivery. We will contact you to arrange freight shipping when applicable.
Brands We Ship
We ship all brands we carry, including Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Honda, Torqeedo electric outboards, and Seakeeper Ride and gyrostabilizer systems.
2. Order Processing Times
Orders are processed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, and Saturday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST. Orders placed outside these hours, on Sundays, or on major U.S. federal holidays will be processed the next business day.

Processing time is separate from shipping transit time. Your total delivery window is processing time plus the transit time of your chosen shipping method.
We will notify you by email when your order has shipped and provide a tracking number. For freight shipments, a freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule delivery.
3. Domestic Shipping — United States
3.1 Standard Parcel Shipping (Small to Mid-Size Orders)
Parts, accessories, portable outboard motors (under approximately 15 HP), and other smaller items are shipped via UPS, FedEx, or USPS depending on size, weight, and destination. Available shipping speeds:

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the weight, dimensions, and destination of your order. Free standard shipping may be available on qualifying orders — see any current promotions at checkout.
3.2 Freight Shipping (Large Engines and Heavy Equipment)
Outboard motors 40 HP and above, Seakeeper gyrostabilizers (Seakeeper 1 through Seakeeper 26), and other oversized or heavy items are shipped via LTL freight carrier. Freight shipments require a liftgate delivery to your location unless you have a commercial dock.
- A freight shipping quote will be provided to you prior to order confirmation for large items
- Freight transit typically takes 3–10 business days after the item leaves our facility
- The freight carrier will call you to schedule a delivery appointment — please ensure a valid phone number is on your order
- You or an authorized adult must be present to accept and inspect the delivery
- Important: Inspect all freight shipments for damage before signing the delivery receipt. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt and contact us immediately at (415) 448-6583. Signing without noting damage may limit our ability to file a freight claim on your behalf.
3.3 Alaska and Hawaii
We ship to Alaska and Hawaii via air freight or expedited parcel services. Additional shipping charges apply and transit times are longer than continental U.S. estimates. Shipping costs to Alaska and Hawaii will be calculated and quoted at checkout or via phone prior to order confirmation for large items.
4. International Shipping
Boat Engine LLC ships to international destinations worldwide, including Canada, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Central and South America, Europe, Australia, and beyond. International orders are subject to the following terms:
4.1 Customs, Duties, and Taxes
- The recipient is responsible for all import duties, customs fees, taxes, and brokerage fees imposed by the destination country
- These charges are not included in the price of the product or our shipping charge and are collected separately by customs authorities or the carrier
- We are unable to predict or guarantee the customs charges applicable in your country — we recommend contacting your local customs authority before ordering
- We declare the full value of goods on customs documentation as required by U.S. export law — we cannot under-declare shipment values
4.2 Export Restrictions
Certain products — particularly high-horsepower marine engines and some electronic systems — may be subject to U.S. export controls and restrictions. We reserve the right to decline international orders for products that cannot lawfully be exported to a specific destination country. If your order is affected, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund.
4.3 International Shipping Rates and Transit Times
International shipping rates are calculated based on destination, weight, and dimensions. For large or heavy items, we will provide a freight quote before processing your order. International transit times typically range from 5–30 business days depending on destination and shipping method selected. Customs clearance may add additional time beyond our control.
4.4 Shipping Carriers for International Orders
We ship internationally via UPS International, FedEx International, DHL, and freight forwarders for oversized shipments. The carrier used will be selected based on the destination and product type.
5. Shipping Address Accuracy
Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate before submitting your order. Boat Engine LLC is not responsible for delays or non-delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete shipping address provided by the customer. If a package is returned to us due to an address error, the customer is responsible for the cost of re-shipment. Address changes after an order has shipped may not be possible and may incur carrier redirect fees.
6. Order Tracking
Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. You can track your order using the link provided in the email or by entering your tracking number directly on the carrier’s website. For freight shipments, the carrier will contact you directly with delivery scheduling information. If you have not received a tracking number within your expected processing window, contact us at orders@boatengine.net or (415) 448-6583.
7. Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Shipments
7.1 Lost Shipments
If your tracking information shows no movement for more than 5 business days, or your package is marked as delivered but has not arrived, contact us immediately. We will initiate a carrier investigation on your behalf. Please allow up to 10 business days for the investigation to conclude before a replacement or refund is issued.
7.2 Damaged Shipments
If your order arrives visibly damaged:
- For parcel shipments: photograph the damaged packaging and product before opening further, and contact us within 48 hours of delivery at (415) 448-6583 or orders@boatengine.net
- For freight shipments: note the damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing, photograph everything, and contact us within 24 hours of delivery — freight claims have strict reporting deadlines
Failure to report damage within these windows may prevent us from filing a successful carrier claim and may affect your eligibility for replacement or refund.
7.3 Carrier Delays
Carrier delays due to weather, high volume periods, or other circumstances outside our control do not entitle the customer to a refund of shipping charges. We will assist you in contacting the carrier and tracking your shipment but cannot be held responsible for carrier performance once a shipment has left our facility.
PART TWO — RETURNS & EXCHANGES POLICY
8. Return Eligibility
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied, we accept returns subject to the following eligibility requirements:

Return window: All eligible returns must be initiated within 30 days of the delivery date. Returns initiated after 30 days will not be accepted.
9. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return under any circumstances (except in cases of manufacturer defect covered by warranty):
- Any outboard motor or marine engine that has been started, run, installed, or shows evidence of use
- Special order items ordered specifically for a customer and not normally stocked
- Electrical components, control boxes, or wiring harnesses once removed from original packaging or tested
- Propellers that show any signs of water contact or installation
- Oils, lubricants, grease, fuel additives, and other chemical products
- Seakeeper gyrostabilizer units once delivered and accepted
- Any item that has been damaged due to improper installation, misuse, or negligence
- Items sold “as-is” or clearly marked as final sale at the time of purchase
- Gift cards
10. How to Initiate a Return
To initiate a return, follow these steps:
- Contact us first — Do not ship any item back without prior authorization. Contact our team at orders@boatengine.net or (415) 448-6583 to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
- Provide your order details — Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
- Receive your RMA — We will review your request and, if approved, issue an RMA number and return shipping instructions within 3–5 business days.
- Package the item securely — Use the original packaging whenever possible. The RMA number must be clearly written on the outside of the package. Items returned without an RMA number will be refused and returned to the sender.
- Ship the item — Unless the return is due to our error or a defective product, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method. Boat Engine LLC is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipment.
- Receive your refund or exchange — Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund or exchange within 5–10 business days.
11. Restocking Fees
The following restocking fees apply to eligible returns:

Restocking fees are deducted from the refund amount. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed defective product.
12. Refunds
Once your returned item is received and inspected, we will send you an email confirming receipt and notifying you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
- Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days of receiving the returned item
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase
- Credit card refunds may take an additional 3–10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your card issuer
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error
- Return shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a confirmed defective product
If you have not received your refund within 15 business days of our confirmation email, please check with your bank or card issuer first. If the issue persists, contact us at orders@boatengine.net.
13. Exchanges
If you received the wrong item or a defective item, we will exchange it at no additional cost to you. If you wish to exchange an eligible item for a different model, size, or configuration, the following applies:
- Contact us to initiate an exchange and confirm the replacement item is in stock
- The original item must meet the standard return eligibility requirements (Section 8)
- If the replacement item is a higher price, you will be charged the difference. If it is a lower price, we will refund the difference to your original payment method
- Standard restocking fees may apply to customer-initiated exchanges
- Exchanges are processed after the original item is received and inspected
14. Warranty — Manufacturer Coverage
All new outboard motors and marine products sold by Boat Engine LLC are covered by the manufacturer’s limited warranty. Warranty coverage, duration, and terms vary by brand and product. A summary is provided below — please refer to the documentation included with your product or contact the manufacturer directly for complete warranty terms.

Important warranty notes:
- Warranties are valid only for the original purchaser and are non-transferable
- Warranty coverage requires that the engine be registered with the manufacturer within the required registration window — we assist with this for engines purchased from us
- Warranty service must be performed by an authorized dealer — Boat Engine LLC is an authorized warranty service center for all brands we sell
- Warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse, neglect, accident, modification, unauthorized repairs, failure to perform required maintenance, or use of non-OEM parts
- Commercial use may carry a shorter warranty period — refer to your specific product documentation
Warranty Claims
To submit a warranty claim for a product purchased from Boat Engine LLC:
- Contact us at (415) 448-6583 or service@boatengine.net to describe the issue
- Provide your order number, product model, serial number, and date of purchase
- Our certified service team will diagnose the issue and coordinate warranty repair or replacement with the manufacturer
15. Cancellations
15.1 Cancelling Before Shipment
Orders may be cancelled at no charge if the cancellation request is received before the order has been processed and shipped. To cancel an order, contact us immediately at (415) 448-6583 during business hours. If your order has already been packed or handed to the carrier, cancellation may not be possible and the standard return process will apply upon delivery.
15.2 Special Order Cancellations
Special orders — items not normally stocked that are ordered specifically for you — cannot be cancelled once confirmed with the manufacturer or supplier. We will notify you clearly if your order contains special order items at the time of purchase.
15.3 Refunds for Cancellations
Approved cancellations before shipment receive a full refund to the original payment method, processed within 5–7 business days.
