Certified Outboard
Motor Service You
Can Trust.
New York's Yamaha Marine Service Pro Elite dealer — the highest certification available. Factory-trained technicians. Genuine OEM parts. Every brand we sell, we service.
New York's Highest-Credentialed Outboard Service Center
Not all marine service is equal. Boat Engine LLC holds the Yamaha Marine Service Pro Elite certification — the single most demanding dealership credential Yamaha awards, requiring factory-trained technicians, verified equipment standards, and consistent customer satisfaction scores. Less than a handful of dealers in New York have earned this designation.
What does that mean for you? It means every technician who works on your Yamaha outboard motor has been trained directly by Yamaha engineers on the latest diagnostic protocols, repair procedures, and OEM part specifications. It means we use the Yamaha Diagnostic System (YDS) — the same software Yamaha's own engineers use — to read fault codes, monitor engine data in real time, and identify issues before they become costly failures.
We service every brand we sell: Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Honda, Torqeedo electric outboards, and Seakeeper Ride systems. One shop. One certified team. Zero guesswork.

Complete Outboard Motor Service — Every Job, Done Right
From routine annual maintenance to emergency engine repairs, our certified team handles every aspect of outboard motor service for all major brands.
Annual Tune-Up & Oil Change
The cornerstone of outboard motor health. Our annual tune-up covers engine oil and filter change, spark plug inspection and replacement, fuel filter service, throttle and shift cable lubrication, gear lube change, and a full visual engine inspection. Protects your warranty and extends engine life.
- Engine oil & filter change
- Spark plug inspection / replacement
- Gear lube change
- Fuel filter service
- Cable lubrication & adjustment
Yamaha Diagnostic System (YDS) Scan
We use the Yamaha Diagnostic System (YDS) — factory-level software that reads fault codes, monitors real-time engine data, and identifies problems that visual inspection alone cannot catch. Ideal for troubleshooting, pre-purchase inspections, or any engine concern. Available for all Yamaha COMMAND LINK and EFI-equipped engines.
- Full fault code read and clear
- Real-time engine data monitoring
- Ignition timing verification
- Fuel injection system analysis
- Written diagnostic report included
Winterization Service
Proper winterization is the single most important service you can do before storing your boat for the New York off-season. Our winterization service flushes the cooling system, foggs the engine cylinders with corrosion-inhibiting oil, stabilizes the fuel system, services the gear case, and prepares your motor for months of storage — so it starts cleanly come spring.
- Freshwater flush & cooling system purge
- Cylinder fogging with corrosion inhibitor
- Fuel stabilizer treatment
- Gear lube check and change
- Battery disconnect & storage prep
Fuel System Cleaning & Inspection
Ethanol-blended fuel degrades quickly in marine environments, leaving varnish and gum deposits that restrict injectors, clog carburetors, and cause hard-starting or rough running. Our fuel system service cleans injectors, inspects the VST filter, checks fuel pressure, and restores full fuel delivery performance to your outboard.
- Fuel injector cleaning & flow test
- VST (Vapor Separator Tank) filter service
- Fuel pressure test and verification
- Carburetor cleaning (carbureted models)
- Fuel line inspection
Impeller & Water Pump Replacement
The water pump impeller is the most critical cooling system component in your outboard. A worn or failed impeller causes engine overheating — one of the leading causes of catastrophic outboard failure. We recommend impeller replacement every 100 hours or two years. Our certified technicians replace the impeller, inspect the water pump housing, and verify proper cooling flow before returning your engine.
- Water pump impeller replacement
- Pump housing inspection & seal check
- Thermostat test and replacement if needed
- Cooling system flow verification
- OEM Yamaha parts used on every job
Corrosion Prevention & Zinc Anode Service
Saltwater is relentless on marine hardware. Our corrosion prevention service inspects and replaces zinc anodes, treats exposed metal surfaces with corrosion-inhibiting compounds, and checks sacrificial anode coverage across the lower unit, trim tab, and transom bracket. Essential for any boat used in New York's salt and brackish waterways.
- Full zinc anode inspection & replacement
- Lower unit corrosion treatment
- Trim tab anode service
- Electrical bonding system check
- Stainless hardware inspection
Outboard Electrical System Inspection
Electrical faults are among the most frustrating and dangerous issues in marine applications. Our electrical service covers battery charging system testing, stator and rectifier/regulator testing, wiring harness inspection for chafing or corrosion, trim and tilt motor diagnostics, and a full NMEA network check for COMMAND LINK-equipped engines.
- Charging system output test
- Stator & rectifier/regulator diagnostics
- Wiring harness corrosion inspection
- Trim & tilt system test
- COMMAND LINK / NMEA network check
Propeller Inspection & Replacement
A damaged or wrong-pitch propeller costs you fuel, speed, and RPM — and can stress your engine unnecessarily. Our propeller service inspects for blade damage, cupping, and pitch deformation, checks the spline and hub insert, and helps you select the correct OEM or aftermarket propeller for your engine's optimum operating RPM range.
- Propeller blade damage assessment
- Pitch and diameter verification
- Spline & hub insert inspection
- Correct-pitch propeller recommendation
- OEM Yamaha props in stock
Full Engine Overhaul & Rebuild
When your engine needs more than routine maintenance, Boat Engine LLC's certified technicians perform complete engine overhauls — including powerhead disassembly, piston and ring inspection, cylinder bore measurement, head gasket replacement, and reassembly to factory torque specifications using 100% genuine OEM parts. We rebuild engines to perform like new, with documented repair histories.
- Full powerhead teardown & inspection
- Cylinder bore & piston measurement
- Head gasket replacement
- Factory torque spec reassembly
- 100% OEM parts — documented repair history

Common Questions About Our Outboard Service
How often should I service my Yamaha outboard motor?
Yamaha recommends annual service or every 100 hours of operation — whichever comes first. This includes an oil and filter change, spark plug inspection, gear lube change, fuel filter service, and a full visual inspection. For New York boaters who use their engines in saltwater, we also recommend an annual corrosion inspection and zinc anode check regardless of hours logged.
Do you service outboard motors from brands other than Yamaha?
Yes. While we hold the highest Yamaha certification available, our technicians are trained and equipped to service Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu, Honda, Torqeedo electric outboards, and Seakeeper Ride systems. We stock OEM parts for all brands we carry so your service can typically be completed without waiting on parts orders.
Will servicing my outboard at Boat Engine LLC protect my Yamaha warranty?
Yes. Yamaha requires that warranty service and scheduled maintenance be performed by an authorized Yamaha dealer using genuine OEM parts. As a Yamaha Marine Service Pro Elite dealer, every service we perform at Boat Engine LLC meets Yamaha's warranty maintenance requirements. We document all service work and provide you with a written record to maintain your warranty file.
How long does a typical outboard service appointment take?
Most routine service jobs — annual tune-ups, oil changes, winterization, and impeller replacements — are completed within 24 to 48 hours of drop-off. More complex repairs such as fuel system rebuilds, electrical diagnostics, or engine overhauls may take longer depending on parts availability and scope. We always provide a time estimate before beginning work.
Do you offer mobile outboard motor service?
Currently, most service work is performed at our New York facility where we have the equipment, parts inventory, and diagnostic tools needed to do the job right. For certain services in the New York area, mobile appointments may be available — contact us to discuss your specific situation and location.
Can you service my Torqeedo electric outboard motor?
Yes. As an authorized Torqeedo dealer, we provide full service for Torqeedo Travel, Ultralight, Cruise, and Deep Blue electric outboard systems including motor inspection, battery health testing and balancing, firmware updates, and propeller service. Torqeedo electric motors require specialized tools and software that general marine shops typically don't carry — our team is fully equipped and certified.
